If you were not in worship last weekend and didn't hear Pastor Paul's first stewardship sermon on "Grace-Filled Hearts" please take a few minutes to listen to the podcast here.
This message has a lot of important information on what the Bible teaches in 2 Corinthians 8:1-7 about learning to be generous givers. It also lists some areas of our Grace ministry that will be central to our 2015 budget.
If you have any questions or comments about the message, feel free to contact Pastor Paul at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262-377-4770.
Bring your change to church this weekend and come up to dump it in the bucket to help Missionary Meg.
We’re having a “Noisy Offering” to support Meg Boren, Grace’s very own medical missionary in Nicaragua.
Meg does such great work improving both the health and education of the people in her community in Central America. Our offering of our change is one small way in which we can help her with all she does.
Parents, have your kids bring some of their loose change (bills are fine, too!) to add to this offering.
Let’s all rally around Meg and the work of Jesus Christ she does as a part of our Grace family!

We're all set for Operation Inasmuch on Sunday. We have about 140 Grace members who have signed up to help with one of our many projects that day.
The weather forecast is great and it should be a very productive and worthwhile afternoon of work and service in our communities.
A Couple More Volunteers are Needed - All of our projects are filled but one. We still need two more volunteers to help do some yard work involving weeding and trimming some plants at the home of a local senior citizen. This job begins at 1:30 p.m. Please call the church office (377-4770) if you can help with this.
Here's our schedule for the day.
Worship for everyone at Grace is at 10:00 a.m.
If you are volunteering you're welcome to wear your work clothes to church. It will be great to see so many people in worship ready for work.
You can also change at church after worship.
The meal for all of our volunteers will be served after worship.
Once we're done eating the various work groups will get organized and then head out to their projects.
When your group is done with your project you can head home. You don't need to come back to church.
Photos: Make sure to take lots of photos of your work projects! We'd like to share what we did with the whole congregation.
September 7th is approaching fast. This is the day when the people of Grace are getting out into our communities to serve others as part of Operation Inasmuch.
We've had a great response so far with 120 Grace members volunteering to be involved.
There are still some projects that need volunteers to make them happen. We need:
In addition we also need . . . (you can do these even if you're not here on September 7th):
Our Schedule for Sunday, September 7th
10:00 a.m. - Sunday morning worship service for all Grace members
11:00 a.m. - Lunch for all the Operation Inasmuch volunteers
12:00 noon - The various work groups head out to do their jobs
Let's all do our part to make Operation Inasmuch a big success!
On Sunday, September 7th, the members of Grace Lutheran Church are getting out into our communities for a day of service and helping others. This is part of Operation Inasmuch, a Christian program that helps churches help others.
We have all kinds of activities planned for that day and are looking to get over 100 members of our church involved.
These are great activities for our middle school students, high school students and their families.
Among the projects for the day that would especially be worth your while are:
The Milwaukee River Clean Up – We are looking for thirty volunteers to clean up three stretches of the river in Grafton. You’ll need to want to get a bit wet as you wade through the river hauling out trash.
Free Car Wash at Grafton Elementary School – We’re going to be good neighbors by offering a free car wash to people driving by GES.
Talent Show and Meal at the Grafton Senior Citizens Center – Do you have a talent, sing, dance or play an instrument? We’re looking for people to help entertain area seniors.
You can sign up to be part of these are the other Operation Inasmuch projects for the day. The tables with all the information are in the gathering area at church.
So get involved, help your community and serve the Lord by serving others.
In my sermon on June 15, I talked about Grace's participation in "Operation Inasmuch". This powerful Christian program gets large numbers of church members out in their community for one day of service and caring for others.
You can learn more about the program at the "Operation Inasmuch" website: http://operationinasmuch.org/
We have chosen Sunday, September 7 as our "Inasmuch Day" here in Grafton, Cedarburg and Saukville.
We will have one worship service that day at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch at church. After lunch our Grace volunteers will head out and spend the afternoon on a variety of different projects.
Our goal is to get at least 150 Grace members working that day. We've already had 100 sign up that they are interested in participating.
What We Need from You
We want you to be part of our work on September 7. There will be projects for all ages and some can be done by families.
Our planning team is working to plan out a number of activities. Right now we are looking at:
Some of our activities will require funding to make them successful, so consider making a donation to Grace for "Operation Inasumch".
Your Ideas are Needed
We are looking for other ideas for other possible projects that day.
We especially would like to know if you have an elderly or disabled neighbor or friend who might need some light home repair work or have some painting done. Such activities make great "Operation Inasmuch" projects.
If you know of someone call the church office (377-4770) and let us know so we can start working to see if their needs can be met by our volunteers.
Keep Your Eyes Open
You will hear a lot more about "Operation Inasmuch" over the summer months.
Talk about this with your family and friends. Invite others to participate.
Let's make September 7 a great day of serving in Jesus' name!
"For inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me." (Jesus in Matthew 25:40)
A couple summers ago, we encouraged Grace members to take a Flat Jesus along with them on their summer adventures. Flat Jesus is based off the kids book, "Flat Stanley", about a boy who becomes flat. One of the benefits of being flat is that it's easy for him to go places.
Summer is a time when we do a lot of traveling, so we thought it would be fun to send you off with a Flat Jesus. You can start by getting a copy of Flat Jesus. We hope that you'll decorate him as you see fit and bring him with you on your trips.
Flat Jesus is a good reminder for all of us that Jesus is with us wherever we go. Psalm 139 tells us, "If I settle at the farthest limits of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand hold me fast." Before Jesus ascended to heaven he left his disciples with a reminder of his constant presence, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
As you play, as you visit, as you travel Christ is with you. As you enjoy the beauty of the summer, Christ is with you. We hope that you'll always remember that, and that you'll take pictures of yourself with your Flat Jesus and send them in to the office (email@example.com ). We'll share them during the announcement slideshow before the service, and on Facebook, too, if that's okay. We hope you have a safe summer that is filled with the love of Christ!
