Worship at Grace
WORSHIP SERVICES SEPTEMBER THROUGH MAY
Grace offers three weekly opportunities for worship:
- Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
- Sunday morning traditional worship at 8:00 a.m.
- Sunday morning contemporary “Celebration Service” at 10:30 a.m.
6:30 Thursday Evenings
This intimate, informal service is offered year-round for those families or individuals who are either not able to worship on Sunday or prefer to worship mid-week. The texts and sermon for the day are the same as the ones that will be used on the following Sunday.
The service is scheduled to last approximately 45 minutes. Spoken liturgies are frequently used and Holy Communion is offered every week.
8:00 Sunday Morning Traditional Service
This service uses a traditional style of worship. Liturgies include the traditional Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW) as well as several non-traditional sung liturgies such as Now the Feast and Celebration and Together in Grace (TIG). TIG was written by our very own organist, Ilona Rodriguez. The service is scheduled to last approximately one hour. Holy Communion is offered the first and third Sundays of the month. Special children's messages are offered on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
10:30 Sunday Morning Celebration Service
This service is called the "Celebration Service" and is lead by our praise teams under the director of Vince Olson. Using keyboard, guitars and drums this service offers upbeat contemporary Christian music. Various groups of singers, including our high school youth, lead the congregation in singing.
We use the video projection system during the service and all the lyrics to the songs are shown on the screens in our worship center.
The service is scheduled to last approximately one hour. Holy Communion is offered the first and third Sundays of the month. Special children's messages are offered on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
SUMMER WORSHIP SERVICES - JUNE THROUGH LABOR DAY
During the summer months we have the Thursday evening worship at 6:30 p.m. and one worship service on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. We offer a variety of worship formats during the summer including a special celebration for our graduates the first Sunday in June, our annual outdoors service in late June and a special service in late July led by the children in our Vacation Bible School.
