All Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Graders: Join in the fun at our annual Indoors Olympics, our next Junior Youth Group event, which will be held on Sunday, September 25th from 4-6pm at church.
We will hold a series of “competitions” in our Olympics, none of which require much athletic skill, but all of which are fun. They will range from team skateboard races, balloon javelin throw, straw shooting, a limbo contest . . . . all the way to our newest event, “speed texting”.
Medals will be awarded to our winners. The evening will also feature ice cream sundaes for everyone and a short discussion time on working to give God our best.
Friends are welcome to attend all JYG events.
"God's Work Our Hands" national day of service for ELCA congregations is coming up on Sunday, September 11th. Last year over 120 Grace members gave their afternoons helping our communities and those who live in them.
We need your help to make "God's Work Our Hands" a success again this year.

We have a number of activities and projects ready for volunteers. These include:
We Need Your Help!
Do you have a friend or neighbor who is elderly or disabled and could use some yard work, painting or minor home repairs done? If so, talk to them, get the details and let us know so we can get some Grace volunteers to help them.
Please let us know how we can help with this or if you have other ideas for projects Grace volunteers can do that day.
We're having a great time at Grace's Vacation Bible School Surf Shack! Nearly 120 kids and over 60 volunteers Catch the Wave of God's Amazing Love each day. Join us on Sunday for our special VBS worship service at 9:00am to watch the kids shine bright and share that our Lord is great and awesome! Whether your kids were at VBS or not, all school age students are invited to bring their school backpacks to worship for a special "Blessing of the Backpacks."
We thank you for your interest in the Grace Lutheran Craft Fair. The craft fair will be held at Grace Lutheran Church (715 6 th Ave Grafton, WI 53024) on Saturday November 12th 2016 from 8am to 2pm. We will take applications on a first come first serve basis. To keep the spirit of a craft fair we ask that all items be hand-made. The cost of one booth (10x10 foot) is $25. This includes 2 chairs. There are a few number of tables available on a limited basis. If a vendor needs additional space they can reserve multiple booths. The fee for the booth will go to support Circle of Empowerment, a health care and education non-profit organization in rural Nicaragua. We are also have a silent auction benefiting the Adult Literacy Center in Ozaukee County. We are encouraging vendors to donate an item to the auction. Vendor set up will be on Friday November 11th from 7pm to 9pm and Saturday November 12th from 6am to 8am. We ask the all vendors are set up by 8am and stay until the fair is over at 2pm.

We are starting to prepare for September 11th when we go out, along with tens of thousands of ELCA members all around the country, to serve our communities on "God's Work Our Hands" Sunday.
We had over 120 Grace members give their afternoon last year and want to increase that number this year.
The planning team has started its work, but there are a lot of needs and duties we have to fill. Here is a list of some of the things we are working on now. If you want to get involved or can help us out please call the church office (377-4770) and let us know.
Please see where you can help. We especially are looking for local residents who could benefit from yard work or small repair projects. These fit perfectly at the heart of "God's Work Our Hands".
Sign-up sheets for our projects will be out starting on Sunday, July 24.
Make sure you get involved and help out. It's a lot of fun and a great way to serve others!
Help Us Move on Saturday, May 14!
We are saying farewell to our office trailer and moving everything out of it and into the new offices on Saturday, May 14. Meet at 8 am in the Gathering Space.
Help us Move out of Storage on Saturday, May 21!
Bring your big trucks, and your big muscles to help clean out the storage unit. We'll meet at church at 8 am and caravan over to the storage unit.
Palm Sunday is March 20
On this day, we remember the great celebration as Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem to shouts of praise and palm branches laid before him. We worship at our regular times of 8 & 10:30.
Maundy Thursday is March 24
We gather at 7pm to hear the story of Jesus Last Supper with his friends, and we share those same words along with bread and wine when we celebrate Holy Communion that evening.
Good Friday is March 25
This solemn and moving Tenebrae service begins at 7pm. As we witness the events of the betrayal, arrest and crucifixion of Christ, it gets progressively darker as candles are extinguished and the sun goes down. We leave in silence until we return on Easter morning, as the women did on that day that changed with world forever.
Easter on March 27
Come to hear and celebrate the best news the world has ever received- the tomb is empty, Jesus rose from the grave and he promises to raise us, too!
We have three worship opportunities that day. All will include Holy Communion and special music.
Sunrise Service, 6:30 a.m.NOTE THIS TIME CHANGE!
We are moving the service to 6:30 this year. Make a note of this! Handbells will be providing us with special music.
Traditional Worship, 8:00 a.m. A service filled with beautiful Easter hymns, liturgy, and music by the Jubilation Choir.
Celebration Service, 10:30 a.m. The Praise Team leads us this service of joyful celebration of the empty tomb.
Invite your friends and bring your family to hear the resurrection story, and be filled with new life in Christ!
Our Grace play is this Sunday at both worship services (8 and 10:30 am). "The Story Teller's Journey" follows two Pilgrims on their trip to find the fabled Story Teller. On their way they meet all sorts of interesting characters right out of Jesus' parables.
"The Story Teller's Journey" is a fun and informative way to see Jesus' parables in a new light. Jesus gave us a lot of food for thought in his parables and we hope that our play will do the same thing for you.
It is good family fun. Children will enjoy it so parents, please make sure you bring your family to see it.
Also remember to invite someone to join you in worship on Sunday. Our play is a great way to do a little evangelism by inviting someone to worship.
Who are these lovely young ladies??? Come to the play and you'll see how they fit into one of Jesus' parables.
Come join us for food and fellowship at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall before the Lenten Service each Wednesday. The menu is different every week (with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches available as well) and the delicious, home-cooked meals are sponsored and served by different groups within the church. These groups use this as a fundraising opportunity to help support their work and activities. Please contribute what you are able to in the donation jars that will be set up at the meals.
Look for the poster with weekly sign-up sheets on the bulletin board to mark your attendance and if you will be bringing a gallon of milk or dessert to share.

We have a special worship about both the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. worship this Sunday at Grace. "Celebrate Worship" will be a time when we take a look at what worship truly is and also thank all those who use their time, talents and faith to prepare and lead our services.
This doesn't just mean the choirs, musicians and pastors. There are so many others who work behind the scenes to help Grace have powerful and meaningful worship services.
The service on Sunday will also serve as a reminder to all of us about what worship truly is. As you will hear, worship is not a spectator sport. It is a holy duty that all Christians have.
We don't serve God sitting at home on Sundaymornings. Our presence in worship is one of the greatest way in which we show our dedication to our God.
So, make sure you're here this Sunday.
Parents - Bring your children. Help them learn what worship is truly all about.
The Jubilation Choir, Praise Team and both handbell choirs will provide the music.
It will be a fun, uplifting and memorable morning.
We even have cake!!
Come! "Celebrate Worship"!!
