We Welcome All Peoples Church Tomorrow Night

Our friends from All Peoples Church in Milwaukee are coming to Grace tomorrow night to join us for our 6:00 p.m. meal and worship at 7:00 p.m.  Pastor Steve Jerbi will lead the group from All Peoples and some of their musicians will share their musical talents during the service.  Let’s make sure we all give them a warm welcome to Grace!

This Week’s Sermon: Fear of the Wilderness

This week we begin a sermon series on Fear.  We often let fear stop us from doing something.  Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of what others will say.  This week we will hear a reading from Deuteronomy that reflects on how God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness.  The gospel is from Luke 4, and it describes the temptation Jesus faced in the wilderness.  We are often afraid of the wilderness- the unknown and uncontrollable.  The sermon will address how our faith keeps us from focusing on the fear so that we can be free from the things that tempt us and make us afraid.

Thursday Evening Bible Study this Week – “90 Minutes in Heaven” – “Are Angels Real?”

Our study of “90 Minutes in Heaven” focuses on the reality and work of angels.  When most people hear the word “angel” they think of flowing white robes and wings.  But that is not the Bible’s image of an angel.  The word literally means, “messenger”.  Angels are God’s divine messengers who are sometimes sent to people with God’s word or who care for people in certain circumstances.  We will listen to what Don Piper has to say about angels and look at what the Bible says about them as well.

Help, Somebody Help!

I need to borrow Legos, Duplos, or other similar blocks.   I need to borrow a lot of blocks.  If you could help out, please put your blocks in a Ziploc bag and write your name on it so I can get them back to you.  If you don't want them back, please write KEEP on the bag.  I will need to have them dropped off by this Friday.  Please place them in the blue Rubbermaid container on the floor across from the library.

Thank you so much for your help.  AIM Ruth

Church Council Mini-Retreat on Saturday

The leaders of the congregation will be meeting this Saturday morning for their annual mini-retreat.  They will discuss many important matters of our congregation’s ministry and help our new council members become more familiar with the workings of the council.

Congratulations to David Krahn and Ryan Berberich

Lumineria Sale this Month

March is the month, the Footprints of Grace, one of our Relay for Life teams at Grace, is highlighting the luminerias.  At the Relay for Life these will line the track to remember those who lost the battle to cancer and the honor those fighting that battle.  The worship center will be lined with bags that Grace has purchased with your fundraising efforts for those from Grace who have dealt with or are dealing with cancer.  You are able to purchase lumineria this month by stopping at the table in the gathering space, pick up a form (which is also found in your bulletin), complete the form and hand in with the $5 donation for each one purchased. You can choose to decorate the bag or we will do this for you. These can be purchased anytime and until 9 p.m. the night of the relay.  Thank you for all your support as we help to find a cure for cancer.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake

Our Evening Mom’s Group is putting together a team for Bowl For Kids’ Sake sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County.  There will be an opportunity coming soon to help support them financially. We would certainly love to have more than one team from Grace bowl this year.  All you need to do is put together a team of four or five friends, family members, or coworkers and have each team member collect at least $75 in pledges for Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Then pick a scheduled date in March, either on a Friday night or Saturday morning, go bowl a couple of games at Harbor Hills in Port Washington, have a great time and do something wonderful for the Little Brothers and Little Sisters who are helped by this great organization.  See Pastor Paul for registration forms and more information.
